Bessence: Sandra Bullock’s New Line Of Eco-Friendly Candles
Filed in: News
Kate Hudson has her own organic shampoo and now Sandra Bullock has released a line of eco-friendly soy candles. Called Bessence, they’re made from plant and flower essential oils and contain no lead wicks. Even the packaging is made from organic and recycled materials. From her website,
“Every Bessence candle is poured, cleaned and packaged individually, by hand, using a specially formulated soy based wax, designed for our high fragrance levels. This meticulously crafted mixture is combined with eco-friendly 100% lead free paper wicks to produce an exquisite smelling candle that burns cleanly and evenly for up to 50 hours”
Bullock was on Oprah yesterday promoting the candles. She explained, “I started researching and you find out about lead wicks and chemicals in your candles. (Soy wax) is a renewable resource.” And Bullock is so happy with her new business, she joked that it could provide her with a second career: “(It’s) something to fall back on.”
Actress Sandra Bullock and her husband were unhurt after a head-on collision in Gloucester with a suspected drunk driver.
Police Lt. Jerry Cook said Bullock and husband Jesse James were being driven in an SUV at about 9:50 p.m. Friday when a car driven by Lucille Gatchell crossed the center line and hit them.
Cook said both vehicles were totaled but no one was hurt. He said both vehicles were traveling about 15-20 miles per hour.
Cook said Gatchell tested .20 on an alcohol breath test, more than twice the legal limit.
He said the 64-year-old Gatchell of Gloucester had no previous record.
Cook said Bullock was "gracious" after the crash, and concerned that Gatchell was OK.
Bullock is in the area filming the romantic comedy, "The Proposal."
Hollywood hotties Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds brought some Tinseltown glitz to the ever-so-staid State Street Bank Building on Franklin Street yesterday, kicking off filming on “The Proposal.”
The cast and crew of the romantic comedy took over the fourth floor of the Financial District skyscraper and transformed it into a publishing company.
The “Miss Congeniality” star plays a career-centric, high-powered book-broker boss who tries to lure her assistant, played by Reynolds, to marry her.
Apparently, the lady’s a Canadian and her visa is running out. But Ryan’s character isn’t exactly a willing groom. Hilarity ensues.
“The Proposal” will shoot in the Financial District until Saturday, we’re told. After that, the production heads north to Rockport, where they’ll film until the end of the month.
Sandra Bullock says: "I like laughing and making other people laugh. Two years ago, when I married Jesse (TV star Jesse James) at a ranch near Santa Barbara, we agreed to a bit of fun when it came to the vows. He wanted me to promise that he could bring home dogs that he found and I made him promise not to bring home any dogs until I OK'd it. We could hardly hear ourselves speak because of the laughter from the guests."
We hear that Boston’s new role as Beanywood continues to roll. Location scouts from Disney’s upcoming “The Proposal” are checking out the city. The flick, set to star Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, is the story of a pushy boss who forces her assistant to marry her in order to avoid deportation to Canada. Source: Boston Herald
